Esther seems to show little interest in the temple, the Promised Land, prayer or other signs of Israelite religion; most peculiarly there is no mention of God! Yet there are similarities with situations in Asia, which open ways for God to speak today. Lau examines Esther in context, interpreting and applying it in view of the rest of Scripture.
