Overview
This is the third book in this story. After several adventures together in the Royal Navy, Ben Burrows and Edward Barraclough have resigned and are now planning to retire and make a new life farming at Fell Cottage Cartmel. However, there are still a few loose ends from their past life. Will these issues lie dormant and leave them in peace? Can they resist going back to the heat of the Caribbean for Captain Kidd's treasure, which they hid on the volcanic Angel Island? There is still a precarious bond between Ben and Ruth, his childhood sweetheart. How can that be resolved when she is now married to the Governor of Jamaica and Ben has found himself a new love? They are forced into making a decision when news reaches them that their old captain has been taken prisoner by the French on Martinique. Should they risk their new life to go in search of the captain and the treasure?
