Overview

Over the years I have been blessed by the hand of God. He has allowed me to preach to only a few as well as to thousands at a time. During this exciting journey called life I have been through some deep valleys and climbed some extremely high mountains. This process has given me a determination to make sure I make a small difference in this life. If I could bring a smile or sooth someone's pain I would say it has been worth it all. During this journey I have also learned that the written word is as important as the spoken word. While writing "FROM THE PORCH" I have been blessed over and over again not by just writing but reading the comments that have been made by the readers. They have really encouraged me beyond measure. I have been encouraged by those who have said that the "PONDERINGS" from the porch has encouraged them to read the Bible more, pray more and at the same time many have once again started attending church. Many feel that there is someone who cares enough to take time to pray for them and write an encouraging word back to them. That has been my goal, letting them know that not only myself who cares for them but there are many others who are praying for them as well. The most important one that cares for them is the Lord Jesus Christ. He loves them beyond measure so much that he gave his life for each and every one. It is my prayer that as you read the ponderings of an old man that you will be encouraged and want to follow Christ yourself. The most important journey we can make is the journey where we walk and talk with Jesus on a daily basis. Someone once asked me where did I get all these thoughts? I answered them this way. I said, "A wondering mind has a lot of places to go." So, let your mind drift and enjoy the thoughts of yesteryear and let them bring pleasure to your today.God bless you!
