Overview
This is a comprehensive and balanced overall view of the ordained ministry. The first three parts of this book trace the theological roots of ordination in the Bible and early church, with a brief survey of its historical development to the present time. In the last two parts, the author deals with a number of current issues in the light of this long and rich tradition. The main perspective is Anglican, but this is set within the context of the church world-wide. All who are considering offering themselves for ordination will find this essential reading, and indeed, many who are already ordained will welcome this book, as also will selectors and those members of synods and PCCs who find themselves in discussions on ministry.
