Overview
Had they known how fast time was going to pass by, maybe they wouldn't have taken it all for granted. On her daughter Harper's twentyfirst birthday, Katherine Dawson gives her the one thing she has ever wanted: the journal Katherine kept when she was Harper's age, detailing how she met Harper's father and found her place in the world. Katherine always knew the truth would be revealed eventually, and she hopes Harper won't judge her for the mistakes she made in the past. As Harper tackles her senior year of college, she relies on the comfort of her mother's words to get her through it all. Their relationship may be complicated due to her mother's secretive nature, but with the journal finally in her hands, Harper is excited to connect with her mother in a way she never has before. Through interweaving perspectives, Where We Began follows the parallel lives of Katherine and Harper as they struggle to find love and happiness in their early twenties.
