Overview
Other Worlds, Other Nightmares by Kevin Mullin takes readers on a journey into the eerie and unknown with twelve masterfully crafted short stories. In the tradition of Weird Tales, Amazing Stories Magazine and Thrilling Wonder Stories, Mullin bends the protective boundaries of reality, leading ordinary people into extraordinary and terrifying situations. Two adventurers break into The Lawton House and uncover a terrifying secret in an antebellum mansion with a haunting past. A young married woman named Priscilla learns of her husband's plans for their future and decides to make him pay after he forces her to comply. Scientific ambition leads to unforeseen horrors in Nelson's Experiment, while residents of Paladine find out that crime is not a good thing. Sculpture and Witchcraft delves into magic, sorcery and revenge in post-WWII Louisiana. The Finger Lake Kelpie and The Vampire Princess of Kheliesis offers us a chilling reminder that some nightmares should never be awakened. Occasionally, love has a downside, as the unfortunate children of a dominating Mother can testify. Accidents Happen when scientists try to delve into the world of magic. And Maybe gives an example of why we should think before we act. The day of PM 210 arrives because perfection seems to be the expectation of men and women nowadays. And amongst these sci-fi stories, The Wizard and the Djinn takes place in a fantasy world where science is minimal and people advance their society by magic. Enter these worlds, but beware-they are born of nightmares.
