Overview

Dare to be Different. Dare to be Great.Journee has always loved living in Willowside, a small town with bright blue skies and rolling hills. From the brightly shining sun to her friendly neighbors, her days are filled with happiness and joy. Until one day, when Journee begins to feel a little...different. While looking around the playground at her amazing classmates, she notices just how unlike she is from those around her, including her complexion, hair, and even her laugh. When her teacher assigns a new project, it forces Journee to either accept herself fully or continue to worry about her differences. Either way, Journee has a big decision to make. Will she share her story and ultimately help others shine their light? Or will she find herself yet again feeling alone and confused? Journee's courageous story is one of love and acceptance. It emphasizes the power of our unique characteristics, and how being who we are is the best way to be.
