Overview
The Old Testament believers serve as examples for us today. Their successes andfailures show us what pleases and displeases God. The writer of Hebrews understoodthe value of these examples. In Hebrews 11, he defines faith by showing how realpeople (e.g., Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham) proved their loyalty to the Lord. In thisstudy, we traverse the faith-landscape of Hebrews 11 to learn from the faithful menand women of old, each lesson emphasizing a particular aspect of their faith. Whileanything less than authentic trust in God will disappoint and destroy us, the "faith ofour fathers" allows us to face life this side of eternity with confidence. Do you longfor this kind of faith? If so, then it is fitting that you spend time with your "fathers" and"mothers" in the faith, namely the believers in Hebrews 11.
