Overview
This is the story of an immigrant child brought across the Rio Grande in search of a better life. It was the early 80's when 8-year-old Veronica crossed north to the United States of America in search of the American Dream with her mother. Getting away from many undesirable adversities would be worth the risk of crossing the unpredictable rising Rio Grande. Escaping the destructive forces of physical, mental, and sexual abuse as well as the struggle to survive poverty are told in this memoir.
