Overview
Part and parcel with modern life is the utter fracturing its trivialities effect in mankind. Our age is one which would convince us that if we are to pursue truth and virtue at all, let alone their Source, then that pursuit ought to be relativized in order to succor our purely worldly affairs. Nowhere is this indifference more obviated than that to religion. For the Catholic, this indifferentism would be an exercise in contradiction. The Evidence for the Catholic Religion follows a simple and efficacious plan by presenting the necessity and existence of revealed religion before demonstrating how this necessity is met by the Catholic Church alone. Tailored especially to those with a thirst for intellectual rigor, Jouin's treatise encounters those difficulties and objections posed against the foundations of the Catholic religion; in other words, those principles which, if embraced, would undermine the claims of Christ and the Church. The expression of docility in the truth, both in sound reasoning and in what God has revealed, is Catholic adoration: in spiritu et veritate.
