Overview
The Truth Is a Funny Thing is a simple first look at the gods of the Bible from a skeptical perspective. It is suitable for children around the age of ten or for adults looking for a short, easy-to-follow manuscript concerning biblical claims. This book provides reasons for disbelief in the biblical account, offering an explanation for why the stories in the Bible were written and what their deeper meaning might be. It compares the biblical story to other ancient tales, showing how myths, fairy tales, and legends relate to nature and the resurrection of new life in the spring. If you want to offer your children reasonable answers to the Judaeo-Christian religion, with which they are bombarded on a daily basis, this may be the book you're looking for. Short chapters as well as drawings will help hold their interest as they begin to build their knowledge about why gods were invented.
