Overview
Three novelettes, previously published separately, come together in this one volume of intrigue and mystery. DECEITFUL - A powerful spirit haunts the ghost town of Fly Blow. Only Grandpa Baker and an aging horse named Deceitful can bring it peace. Problem is, the old man is confined to a chair and can't talk. Young Sarah thinks she has come to pack her grandpa's things for the old folks home, but fate has other plans. DIABLO - A horse with a blue eye is said to be a medicine horse that brings good fortune to its owner. Diablo has the crystal eye but brings bad medicine to the rodeo circuit. Julio Ortega, a small vaquero from San Angelo is determined to prove himself in the arena - even if it means a ride to the death. GONE TO TEXAS - Texans are a rare mix that come from everywhere but Texas. The McCords came out of Georgia after General Sherman's March to the Sea. The promise of free land and a new life brought the Jones and the Otwells from Arkansas. The three families had survived the Civil War, but they weren't prepared for the Range Wars. They would soon find that the worst snakes in Texas are of the two-legged variety.
