Overview

To gain eompetitive advantage, firms have inereased their number of variants in reeent years. But as a eonsequenee it has beeome more and more diffieult to foreeast demand data at the level ofindividual produets over the planning horizon. In the ease ofuncertain demand a hierarehical planning eoncept is partieularly appropriate.
