Overview
Water was one of the four classical elements in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy or the five in Indian philosophy. It is the earth's main constituent and that of all known living organisms. Without water, there would be no life on earth. No one understands water, which covers two-thirds of our planet. It exhibits a whole raft of unusual behaviors, many of which are essential for life as we know it. So, the mystery of water belongs to us or we to it how our lives. It has inspired several poets to express their ideas about it in their poems. For poets, it doesn't just mean an element but opens spaces for sense perceptional excursions.
