Overview

The aim of this book is to encourage and motivate academics in the field of Languages to reflect on the problem of linguistic variation and diversity. In this way, this short book presents the work resulting from discussions within the scope of the subject Linguistic diversity and language teaching taught in the first semester of 2017 on the degree course in Languages (English Language) at the Institute of Linguistics, Languages and Arts of the Federal University of South and Southeast Pará (ILLA-UNIFESSPA) in the city of Marabá, in the southeast of Pará. This volume contains chapters that present the reflections and debates that took place during the course. As well as observations on English language teaching and learning. In this way, it is hoped that the reader will be able to engage in a dialog with texts - albeit brief - that provoke questions and ideas about the acquisition and appropriation of a new language.
