The first catalogue raisonné for the celebrated yet short-lived Italian lamp design firmIn its brief existence from 1969 to 1973, the Italian design company NewLamp created no fewer than 55 lamp models, characterized by their innovative and highly modish form and construction. Founded by entrepreneur Mario Vento, its staff included such notable figures as Gianfranco Fini, Fabrizio Cocchia, Gianni Colombo and Giuseppe Ravasio. After only two years, in 1971, NewLamp was awarded the Europremio for furniture design. Over the course of more than 15 years, Paolo Borromeo d'Adda has worked to uncover NewLamp's complex and clandestine history, revealing the secrets and speculations that have surrounded the firm for 50 years.
