Overview
Although the Church's mission cannot be defined primarily by sociological methods and language, the use of the social sciences methods and language to study and clarify the content of the mission does not alter its identity nor does it compromise mission theology. The Church's mission cannot be defined exclusively in theological terms but must also be seen in social terms, that is advocating for a just and democratic society, dialoguing with local cultures, questioning avoidable social inequities, and standing against structural violence.
