Overview
Behind every township boundary in Ontario lie generations of families, farms and fierce ambitions. History Of The County Of Brant (Volume II) gathers those threads into a vivid chronicle of one remarkable Canadian community. Every name here once mattered. F. Douglas Reville continues his authoritative brant county ontario history, tracing the settlement and development history of townships, villages and institutions as the nineteenth century gave way to modern Canada. Drawing on local records and lived memory, this classic canadian history offers a ground level view of how land was surveyed, communities were organised, civic and religious life took root, and regional identities emerged. Rich in names, dates and local colour, it serves as both an engaging historical non fiction book for general readers and an indispensable county history reference and local historians reference book for teachers, students and family researchers. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure, prepared for anyone seeking canadian local history, serious municipal and regional history, or dependable ontario genealogy books. As an ontario county history book and genealogy research resource, Volume II rewards close reading, preserving the texture of 19th century canada history and the distinctive character of Brant County for casual readers, heritage enthusiasts and classic literature collectors alike.
