A book is an act of faith, it is a personal Bible, and a public confession. A book is a display of arrogance, where the creator prevails before the compliant gaze of the readers. A book is the fear of death, and the need to be perpetuated in others through memory. A book is a long-lasting orgasm that, in virtue of the writing time elapsed, decreases in intensity, but not in the amount of satisfaction obtained when it is finished. A book is something a photograph cannot reveal, something a movie cannot project, something a song cannot express, a delight you cannot get from a meal. A book is an opportunity in which the reader as well as the author, although only for a brief moment, become the same person.
