Overview
In A Safe House, Christa Wells offers a collection of poems that enter courageously into the conversations we often neglect or prefer to avoid; conversations with a God that defies definition and the natural world that reflects both our beauty and mortality; with our troubled children and our former partners; our aging bodies and our evolving souls. Through these poems runs a thread, which is the question of how we seek to create a sense of safety in the world, for ourselves and one another. A Safe House is a subtle companion to Christa's most recent studio album, Redwood, which expresses the artist's newfound sense of belonging and empowerment in the wake of suffering.
