Overview
After the Rain chronicles the lives of people struggling to deal with secrets (past and present), dementia, grief, and substance abuse. Henry, a psychiatrist, cares for his wife with dementia and finds a letter revealing a shocking secret about her past, upending his views of their life together. Jenny, a foster child placed into her third home, fears being abandoned by her new mother, Rachel, but a pair of "magic" sunglasses saves the day. Valerie falls from a ladder and loses consciousness. When she's in the hospital, her repetitive chants and counting rituals fail to alleviate her fears. Janet, a young woman who seeks help for her troubled childhood, freaks out when she's stuck in an elevator with her psychiatrist who happens to be Henry. Despite adversity, each character finds magic, love, creativity, and healing relationships--the rainbow after the rain.
