"my skin stretches until it tears at the edges, the darkness pours out & i'm forced to admit it was always there. is it the same for everyone? is it the same for you?"there is a darkness inside of all of us, & more often than not it can be found holding hands with the purest frequency of love. the two endure this way, together, creating fantasy & worry alike.this, too, was born from their concurrence. this was born from a sense of urgency, & a feeling of running out of time. you never know how long you have on this earth, in this body. this represents all of the not knowing, & feeling accordingly. aching & yearning & longing & getting! then worrying & pondering & aching some more. every moment as precious as the air in your lungs, every second a delicious morsel you wish you could savor. but time neither slows down nor reverses, it simply continues on endlessly into the future, one big flat circle. author note: at the original time of publication, the most defining year of my life thus far had just ended. now, i am ready to evolve from that place, but to do so i have to honor the past. revised, updated, reissued - carrion calls will always hold a special place in my heart.
