Overview
"The Whale's Tail" is a modern fairy tale that centers on Rej, an elderly man living in his childhood home on the edge of a gulf island cliff overlooking the Salish Sea. The story unfolds in the quaint village of Beauty. Rej faces financial challenges and threats from unscrupulous land grabbers who aim to displace the elderly villagers for their own profit. Fred, one of Rej's lifelong friends, recognizes Rej's predicament. The plot deepens as Rej involves Sam, the local bakery owner, and Dr. Jodie "JK" Clauss, a respected physician and psychoanalyst, in his and Fred's plan to work together to protect and improve their community. Their collaboration brings in the community's 'Rich Guy, ' who organizes and leads innovative solutions for everyone in the community, particularly a system that Fred shares that helps to reduce Rej's living costs. Everyone in the community benefits and goes on to live happily everafter. Why? Because their ideas and actions go viral and change the world - That's why!No spoilers here except that the story is true for the 'real' Rej. The appendices offer a blend of technical explanations and historical insights, enriching the narrative with credible scientific foundations and highlighting the potential for real-world applications of the story's ideas. In scrupulous detail, the appendices show how Rej converts his heating/cooling system to reduce his annual living expenses by about 30%, while lowering his carbon footprint by the same amount. You may benefit from this as well, dear reader, whether you want to read a good yarn or learn how to help the planet by installing the system in your own home or earning money installing it in other people's homes.
