Overview

We are the waiting and living church. But what does that mean, exactly? What are we all about? What does God want His church to accomplish? How can the church do that? These are the questions that we will explore and seek to answer in this book. There have been several books written recently about how Christians in this culture ought to be "doing" church. There are many today who think that the church needs to avoid biblical truths that unbelievers find offensive so they can make more converts. Biblical concepts like sin and repentance-which are central to the gospel message-are carefully avoided, as well as any mention of hell, God's wrath for sin, or God's desire for His followers to live a holy life. We must not fall into this trap. We are living in a time when there is incredible confusion about what the church should do. It is important to consider carefully what the New Testament apostles taught about the church.
