Overview
During the spring of 1948, Ellie Adder and her associate, Carolyn, find themselves enmeshed in a series of events that conclude with an Old West shoot-out in the desert of the Big Bend Country of Texas. Along the way, they meet many colorful characters: an old desert wanderer with secrets, his sophisticated East Coast relatives, a dashing Army captain, a weasel of a newspaper reporter, two clever New York City lawyers, and a friendly Texas judge. In the background hovers a gleaming flying saucer that provides a link to the stars.
