Overview
A body is discovered on the rocks which form a low waterfall known as Dights Falls on the Yarra River close to the Melbourne CBD. The investigating team of detectives at Victoria Police uncover a link to the crime wars that have been creating havoc for the past two years around the state related to the importation and distribution of illicit cigarettes and vapes. Tobacco stores are being fire-bombed on an almost nightly basis and some store owners have been targeted by rival gangs. The investigation leads the police to an outlaw motorcycle club and the discovery of not only huge quantities of illegal tobacco products but the importation of hard drugs smuggled into Australia from Spain. The story covers the tracking down and arrest of suspects including the alleged killer who escaped to Spain. The senior detective heading up the investigation is described as a dedicated family member and as the investigation deepens he becomes a target for harm by the gang believed to be behind the murder. This is a fast action thriller which takes the reader through all stages of the investigation including the ultimate arrest of the suspect in Northern Spain.
