Overview
Two young women friends, one skilled sailor and one novice, set out to explore Maine's expansive coastline from 1978-1981. We sailed a funky, barely put together 25-foot sloop, slept on floorboards, and "camped" afloat among gorgeous islands and coves for four amazing summer trips along the spectacular Maine coast. We took our unique sailboat into beautiful anchorages we would never have seen. We huddled in the rain, slept in calm and stormy harbors, and weaved our way through the notorious Maine fog.
