Ari, the arrogant and self-absorbed Marquis of Stone bridge, has spent his life thinking only of himself, indifferent to the consequences of his actions on others. But when he dies unexpectedly in his youth and begins to descend into darkness, he desperately cries out for help. Given a chance at redemption, Ari is offered a divine choice: his soul must live through twelve lifetimes, each designed to teach him lessons of compassion, humility, and love. If he succeeds in transforming his heart and passing the tests set before him, he will be granted entry into heaven. Though he will not remember his past lives or the guidance given to him, he is promised signs, visions, and a unique birthmark in each lifetime to help him on his journey. Torn between the comfort of heaven and the challenge of redemption, Ari chooses to return to earth
