Overview

The Pike County Historical Society was founded in 1930. Over the years, it has been our goal to act as a repository for artifacts and ephemeral, as well as historical documentation pertaining to the people, places, and events that have shaped the history of Pike County. Our journey has taken us from humble beginnings in a room on the second floor in the Community House, with occasional exhibits in storefronts on Broad Street, to a charming museum with two floors of exhibits in a beautiful neo-classical home of our own.The hard work and vision of every person associated with the Society has led us here, and we are thankful for their dedication. You can be sure that for every annual meeting, holiday party, lecture, presentation, event, tea party, or exhibit opening there were some sort of cakes and cookies, hors d'oeuvres, snacks, or an all-out dinner involved. It is with that in mind that we bring you our historical cookbook filled with recipes from 1700 2000, to celebrate our 95th anniversary.
