Overview
(Music Sales America). Commissioned by the European Broadcasting Union, the one-minute orchestral piece was was to employ a recognizable Beethovenesque spirit with a personal touch. The work reflects the vast changes in orchestral music since Beethoven's symphonies, whilst highlighting the recognisable characteristics which run through both Saariaho and Beethoven's music.
