Overview
This book's various stories and narratives are assemblages of the author's personal experiences. Some are anecdotes about friends and acquaintances while others are based on news articles he has encountered. However, they are mostly inspired by real life. The other thing common among them is that they all reflect the dark side of human nature in one form or another. A headless statue overlooking a hundred-year-old grave, a rocking chair that appears to move by itself, or an overtly friendly easy-on-the-eye female, all evoke our curiosity. The forbidden fruit of an extramarital affair also qualifies, especially if it has unexpected twists and turns. Hardships faced by a surgeon during a medical mission can prove to be life-transforming, as can be his experiences at a corporate hospital. When these phenomena appear to be somehow related to real-world events and places, that's where the actual fun lies. The aim is not only to entertain the reader but also to impart certain glimpses into the intricacies of life. Because, out of the shadows of darkness emerge rays of sunlight, and where negativity lurks, there is bound to be positivity.
