Overview

This poetry book of short poems consists of thoughts and expressions that the author has learnt over the course of her life and would, given the chance, relay them to her younger self. Throughout her poetry, the author engages with themes of trauma, love, loss, faith and self-expression, hoping to inspire younger, and even older audiences, with her thought-filled lessons she has learnt. The book is creatively dated throughout each quarter of each year with each poem associated with a thought that the author would have liked to express to that specific version of herself. The book starts in the third quarter of the year 2008, when the author is merely six years old, and carries on to the end of the year 2020, when the author is 18 years old and is entering adulthood. The poems serve to guide her younger self throughout those years.
