Overview
Israel being a country with only a 70-year recognized history, smaller in size; similar to state of New Jersey, population not more than 9 million, scarce of natural resources, surrounded by rivalries especially Arabic, has been raised to a position powerful enough to influence whole the Middle East region. Power of Israel cannot only be explained and measured through available traditional measurement of power. Significance is, how they convert available resources of power in a way assured their national interests. The Israel had won almost every war it had to face since its independence in 1948 with and without support from its western allies especially USA. Israel receives continues economic, military and political support from USA except minor rare cases. Jews being a very intellectual ethnic group have biblical claims over the holy land of which Israel is existing today. Yet, they were under continuous threats historically from various external powers whom expelled the Jews many times, which caused to create the Diaspora which is still existing around the world and some of them converted into powerful Pro-Israeli Lobby groups especially in USA. It is not only external support, there are many other aspects which brought success to Israel in the region. Their compulsory military service, Priority and budgetary allocation for security, Skills of Military and Intelligence Service community, leadership, innovation, science technological advantages are utmost important factors for the present status. Israel is a democratic country with a free market economy and freedom for speech and action. In addition to the cultural and attitudinal aspects; historic discrimination for Jews and present threats for existence brought them to a no other option situation and thereby made them a self-sufficient, self-relied and an innovative nation ensuring their survival in the region.
