Read and discuss the written history of Jesus' life and the life of the early Church in the books of John, Luke, and Acts. The book of John comes from the best friend and cousin of Jesus. The book of Luke comes from Luke, who carefully investigated what happened with Jesus through the people who witnessed it firsthand. The book of Acts also comes from Luke, who traveled with Paul, the author of much of the New Testament. We see how following Jesus is a daunting task, but Jesus overcame the world, and so can we. From these scriptures, our doctrine has its origins.
