Overview
Travis is a hard rock gold miner with a claim at the foot of Cyclone Mountain. It is an isolated and nearly inaccessible basin bisected by Cyclone Creek. He learns he has a son he never knew existed. R. B. Lawrence is a sixteen-year-old boy from Boston, raised in an affluent home, schooled at the prestigious Prentice Lloyd Academy for sons of the social elite in Cambridge. Pampered and coddled his entire life, cultured and refined, he learns he has a father he knew nothing about. Thrown together by an unexpected tragedy, they could not possibly be more different from one another. Can the boy who never worked a day in his life learn what it means to be a man? Can the man, rugged as the Rocky Mountains, learn what it means to be a father? Can they find their way together at Cyclone Creek? With two murderous escaped convicts running loose in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, will they live long enough to forge a bond as father and son?
