Eliane and Jonathan are in a love relationship so riddled with obstacles that fate seems to deny them a future together. Frustrated, Eliane turns away from God and flees into drugs. There she meets the teenager Hannah, who she feels atttracted to due to their similar traumatic backgrounds. Can Eliane's trips into Thornland provide her with answers to her own questions and means to help Hannah?The Valley of the Thorn King features some of the protagonists of its predecessor, The Lake of Love Forlorn. It can be understood, however, without reading the first novel in this series.
