Are Existentialism, with its affirmation of freedom, and Marxism, with its affirmation of determinism, reconcilable? How successful was Sartre in his quest for the reconciliation of Existentialism and Marxism? How adequate and how coherent to human experience is the Sartrean discussion of collective authenticity?
