Overview
My name is Dr. Thomas H. Williams, and this is only a brief description, but my prayer is that you will find encouragement from this book. My mama bought a family Bible from some Gypsies, but I don't know if she ever read that Bible or any Bible. I heard that mama and daddy had become born-again Christians, but that is between them and GOD. The doctor wanted mama to be admitted to the hospital before Christmas, but she wanted to spend Christmas with her husband and nine children. She was admitted to the hospital in January for she was to have an operation with cancer. My mama needed 25 pints of blood. My daddy, who, operated an illegal bar asked everyone to donate a pint of blood and in exchange they received a shot of whiskey. The night before her operation she asked me to take of the younger children because my daddy didn't know how to take care of them. Of course, I kept my promise because the next day she died on the operating table. I don't remember much about the funeral except for the song "Where The Roses Never Fade." Daddy had no real answers to explain living and dying. At the graveside, daddy said that in that grave was his whole life. Two years later, daddy died, and I became the head of the household. Three years ago, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she recovered. However, the cancer had an unsuspected side effects. She died of a heart attack. Suddenly, I lost my wife of more than 40 plus years of marriage. This book and the pages are more than my words, but the words of her encouragement for me to write. I pray that in these pages every reader will have real answers to living and dying.
