Overview
"Almost unable to breathe, Sean perched on the edge of his bed staring down at his feet on the plank wood floor, his socks peppered with dried mud. He tried to clear his mind and think logically, but everything spun randomly in his head. This was totally surreal. He was as scared and excited as he had ever been in his fourteen years, and he needed his father now more than ever. Turning back to consider the magnificent sword that lay gleaming on the covers behind him, he wondered... could it really be what he was thinking? What should he do now? Who should he tell? Who could he tell?" After the sudden death of their father, American teenagers Sean and Caroline Smart are reluctantly transplanted deep into the English countryside, to the home of their maternal grandmother. While in Cornwall, Sean discovers that his presence there is more than expected, and that he is far more deeply connected to the past than he could ever have imagined. Forces outside of his control, soon cause him to have to weigh simple, everyday life, versus duty. Everything driving towards a final showdown will affect the destiny of mankind.
