Overview
Two military coups, murder and mayhem in the streets. Chike has to escape to the East for protection, but his wife, Yetunde balks; "I am not Igbo," she declares shakily. Will she reconsider on time, before it becomes too late and angry mobs reach her family? What happens to this erstwhile happy Lagos couple? Will ethnicity politics do them in? How about their children? What of Isabel, the nanny, who is destined for more than anyone sees? There are no easy answers here. Instead, betrayal, lust and trust battle it out as cultural norms fall, and bullets fly with the advent of war. Machine guns spit death while MiG fighter-bomber planes shred the land. Who and what will remain when the acrid smoke of war clears?
