While pursuing part-time college education, I got married and went to England for further studies and work. My failure to financially support my father led to his insistence that I return to Kenya, forcing me to comply.In a time when parental authority was paramount, I broke the silence and faced family verbal abuse as a consequence. Seeking employment in Zambia allowed me to evade British permit requirements and eventually led me to settle in Canada. This autobiography delves into the struggles of an Asian child obedient to their parents, only to defy their wishes and become a migrant in a new country.
