Historically speaking, the character trait of humility has been a core value in many cultures since ancient times. It has been important for its basis in politics, ethics, morality, and religion. Humanly speaking, Mary, the mother of Jesus exemplified a moral high ground, revealed true modesty, responded to life with empathy, acknowledging others, showed respect, understanding limitations, and expressed compassion.
