She is originally from Taiwan but now lives in the state of Washington, where she loves to work in the educational field. She loves to spend her free time volunteering at her kids' schools, helping in the school's cultural fair, supporting non-profit organizations, drawing, singing, and creating artwork. Min-Hua's own children are bicultural and have enjoyed the Taiwanese culture, language, and food. Through this book, Mama's Hometown Is Kaohsiung, Southern Taiwan, Min-Hua's desire is to help families better understand the Taiwanese culture and how it compares to their own, and maybe even inspire a desire to visit and see it for themselves.
