Overview
This book about the "Unseen within Divine Playgrounds", opens new dimensions to understand and to practice the art of caring. His intention is to supplement the traditional understanding of pastoral care, namely, cura animarum with the notions of cura vitae (life care) and cura terrae (care and preservation of the earth - green spirituality). (Dr. Helmut Wei , founder and president of SIPCC (Society for Intercultural Pastoral Care and Counselling, Düsseldorf Germany). The publication seems like "a Summa of Louw's lifelong academic reflection, practical work and pastoral engagements." The author offers a thorough positioning of theology as an academic and practical discipline. In the academic field, theology is connected to other academic disciplines. He argues for a scholarly focus on the meta-dimension of "the unseen" in life. However, this is not about a lofty, otherworldly perspective. On the contrary, this perspective leads directly to a "grassroots approach" and to the "public of marketplace of relationships", to people and their struggles in the "happenstances of life" (Dr. Karl Federschmidt, Researcher, Intercultural Pastoral Care, Düsseldorf Germany).
