Overview
This book is about a woman who did not understand her own life. She went through life trying to make sure she pleased everyone but herself. Through her journey she experienced racism, sexual assault as a youth and later as an adult. She was constantly seeking out love from anyone she could get it from. At one point she contemplated suicide but knew that was not the solution. It took her over two decades to realize she had a voice. Once she decided to use her voice she was able to be her true self and was no longer emotionally silent.
