Overview
Oftentimes the Good Book comes out swinging. It cannot help itself-being sharper than any two-edged sword. But use caution! It pierces and penetrates no matter who does the wielding-whether righteous or reckless. Consequently, there are times in church life when soul and spirit, joints and marrow, thoughts and attitudes are strewn all over the floor after a brawl with the Bible.Rightly Dividing?-the hilarious and heart-wrenching Second Season of Our Father's Evangelical Church-chronicles another pastoral transition, the arrival of Tony Meece from San Antonio, Texas. He brings with him a motherboard of hot-button issues that constantly seek to rock and divide the local church: Hymns versus choruses, the role of women, Christians and alcohol, attending public or private school, whether Jesus was a Democrat or a Republican, all under the exacting eye of Holy Scripture-a futile staring contest with final authority.Ian Block and his wife, Maria, find themselves living and active in this swashbuckling vortex of vices and virtues, while they themselves navigate the stormy waters of raising a teenager. In Rightly Dividing?, church loyalty is on the line, enlisting members of the Body of Christ to throw down the gauntlet, pull it together, and function as they should. Will they?
