Awakening Evolution

It is the year 2048. After a comet struck the earth, almost eliminating all life on the planet, The survivors fought endless wars for the remaining resources. Just when it seemed the planet was doomed to extinctions, Alien visitors from the other side of the galaxy arrive to save humans, with a catch: they would become the slaves of the Scalien Empire. Humans submit, but knowing that even a golden cage is still a cage, they secretly plot the overthrow of the Invaders' government. Thus, the slaves become the masters and enslave the Scaliens to their will. And so it was for 300 years. Except that's not the way it happened. Humans have been lied to by their leaders since the first apes climbed out of trees and picked up stones to fight for survival. Always in the background were the mysterious 'watchers' making sure humans advanced themselves. But WHY?
