Overview
Book One of an exciting new historical romance series, "Daughters of the Duchess." "Dreaming of the Dance" is an epic love story about overcoming pride, learning to trust others, and discovering the strength that comes from letting someone in-flaws, scars, and all. 15th C., Coudenburg Palace, Brussels. Eva of Utrecht is an unrecognized, illegitimate daughter of the Duke Philip III. Flawed by a birth defect that labels her undesirable, Eva's dreams of becoming a knight's lady seem impossible... until a missive arrives from Coudenburg Palace in Brussels. Mathieu of Liège is the duke's ostler, in charge of the horses and hunting falcons, a role he loves. Although a knight's son, Mathieu has no interest in pursuing the warrior's path. He bears a scar on his face as evidence of "noble" brutality. When Mathieu is charged as chaperone to the crippled Eva, his initial resentment turns to something he doesn't know how to deal with: an affection for this flawed but proud and stubborn young beauty. Can Eva accept her disability and overcome her pride to grow? Will she accept her inability to "dance," or push through her fears, discovering a new way to find happiness? How? An epic love story set in medieval times.
