This book presents a state of the art of environmental and sustainability education (ESE) programs carried out in selected countries of the world: Alemania, New Zealand, England, Rwanda, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Holland, Australia, Belgium, India, Austria, Ethiopia, among others, against the background of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN. The historical background of ESE in each country is presented, as well as an analysis around the educational systems that have allowed ESE to develop. Furthermore, the understanding and implementation of ESE as well as the implementation of the global action program of ESD in each country are described. Also emerging issues and trends, and current and future needs of ESD are discussed for each county. Overall and across all country case studies, the global trends in ESE and some of the current and future needs to generate consensus and bridge breaches of empathy and international organization are also presented. A common conceptual ESE framework will be suggested. This analysis is of great importance today because it allows us to observe the particular characteristics of different national discourses regarding environmental and sustainability education and to reflect the flexibility with which those who seek to implement this type of global discursive programs and actions must act, since a large part of the success of ESE depends on it--
