When my father was battling pancreatic cancer I was blessed to be one his caregivers. In the last two months of his life he began to experience vivid death bed visions. The invisible beings he encountered helped him to come to terms with unresolved issues that he faced in his life. In so doing, it allowed him to confront and define his spirituality which ultimately led him to leaving this world feeling ok with himself. The book is interwoven with my own childhood memories and challenges including a personal account of my own near death experience that occurred when I was a teenager. As a seasoned hospice volunteer, I also bring my knowledge of end of life care from that perspective. This book is geared to the people who are facing the end of their lives due to terminal illness and to their caregivers, friends and families. It is meant to be both a guide through the process of the dying time as well a story about a family going through it. Most people don't want to think about death, let alone talk about it. As I share my experiences about this sacred time in life, I hope that it can offer you some comfort for your own journey, whether you are the patient, a caregiver, a family member or friend. It is amazing what gifts you can find in the end stages of life! My goal in writing this book is to help you embrace the rewards of your struggle.
